Author Portraits
Sharing a couple of author portrait commissions that I love for some amazing female authors, both of these images were featured in the covers of their debit novels.
Eliza Robertson, an alumni of the UEA’s creative writing school, published her debut novel Demi-Gods in 2017 to great acclaim. Earlier in the year we shot a series of portraits at Norwich’s Studio 20 and despite the original plan of creating some brighter portraits, we were both drawn to softer, more natural, darker images which worked perfectly with the themes of the book.
Charlotte Duckworth also released her first novel in the autumn of 2018. She writes contemporary female-centric thrillers. For this series of portraits I travelled to her home, bringing lighting, to get some modern, relaxed portraits that could be used in the dust jacket of the book and across her sites and social media.
