Ferndale Farm Cheeses
Ferndale Farm cheese, based in Little Barningham and the producers of Norfolk Dapple and Norfolk Tawny, have become the darlings of the Norfolk food scene - their cheeses featuring on the menu at some of Norfolk’s best restaurants including Benedicts and Socius in Burnham Market.
Although at the time, they were getting quite a lot of interest from local media - both the local papers and food scene specific magazines, they had no images to share, which made getting the kind of press coverage they wanted a bit tricky!
The plan for the shoot was to tell the story of the cheese being made, including the early morning visit to collect milk from their suppliers in Binham, through to the cheese being made and some team photos, some scene setting shots around the farm that could work as collages, and followed up by me taking home some cheese to create some styled product shots with a view to using them as editorial submissions. I spent the morning with them on
Finally having a portfolio of images meant that they were not only able to score a several page feature in Feast Norfolk magazine, but also the front cover. Win. Plus it was pretty wonderful to see my photos on the cover of the magazine at the checkout in Marks & Spencer!
